Shamrock Newtown 5k Race 3/11/23

Started the day with a about a 1.5 hour drive on Saturday morning to complete this race. Had a warm-up cycle (4 miles) before I left. I had snowed the night before, just a few inches but it was cold and rainy to start the race.

Luckily by start time it was just a cold drizzle, but I did have to layer up with winter undergarments and rain jacket on the top.

This was at the start of the race...

My son, Antonio is 14 years old, and joined me in this run.

This is right after the run, my son rehydrating...

And here are the results. Again, failed to complete a 5k in under 20 min. The course did have some elevation change, but it wasn't that bad, I should have been able to perform better. I ended up being 10th overall and 2nd in my age group with a time of 20:35.

Here is a video of the cool medal BLING that we got.

So after a morning of running, what do you do when your son is playing on the computer and your daughter and wife are napping in the mid afternoon? How about a long run? After all, it is the weekend!

So this is all my training for the day. Hope you had a productive day as well!
