Rest Day?

So the day after the 5k and after an additional 9 mile run, I decided to try and do a REST DAY. Well, I was not successful, I did run a lot less than my normal mileage but ended up putting in 6 miles on the treadmill.

The pace was easier than suggested by my self-adjusting treadmill. I did not feel ‘energetic’ enough to match the machine, so I felt like I needed the rest.

So over the last 4 weeks, I have averaged about 47 miles per week. Which is certainly up from my base of mid 30s. I just feel like I have to be getting closer to 60 miles to establish my base cardio.

I just can’t wait to see progress, but also how will I see it? Is it race PBs or HR at a given pace. Or the ability to have a faster pace at a given HR?
